BALLSTON — A Schenectady man drove drunk with a child in the car on Saturday, according to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Department.
David A. Saxby, 43, of 479 Cedar St., faces multiple charges, including aggravated driving while intoxicated, a felony, because he had a child in the vehicle at the time.
Sheriff’s officials arrested Saxby after they received a call for a reckless driver on Route 50 in Ballston just after 9 a.m., police said.
Deputies stopped Saxby and determined he was intoxicated and had a child younger than 15 in the car, officials said. Deputies also determined he had struck two mailboxes in the area and failed to stop.
Saxby also faces one count each of DWAI-drugs, endangering the welfare of a child and reckless driving, all misdemeanors, and the violations of leaving the scene of a property damage accident and failure to maintain lane.
Saxby was arraigned and ordered held without bail until further legal proceedings.
