
Mahopac defeated Niskayuna/Schenectady/Albany 5-2 Wednesday in the Mohawk Holiday Tournament at Union College’s Messa Rink.
Jake Dominikoski had a goal and an assist for N/S/A, and Theo Angelopoulos added a goal. Goalie Tony Cotugno had 29 saves for the Mohawks.
In the other tournament game, Rye/Harrison beat La Salle 7-4.
La Salle’s goals were scored by Taylor Nitz, Nic Pauley, Sebastian Geiger and Spencer Carpenter. Goalie Leo Paul stopped 21 shots.
GIRLS’ BASKETBALL
Averill Park defeated Catholic Central 57-33 in the opening round of the Colonie Holiday Shootout.
Averill Park was led by Kelsey Wood with 19 points. Amelia Wood contributed 16 points.
Catholic Central was led by Sarah Mattfield’s 13 points. Riqiya Harris added 11 points.
Colonie beat Williamsville South 56-51 behind as Alivia Paeglow scored 17 points, and Aliyah Wright had 16.
