
SCHENECTADY – A car struck a porch on Becker Street Sunday and police also appeared to recover a gun in the aftermath.
The incident happened mid-day near the corner of Becker and Elder Streets in Schenectady.
The car ended up partially on the front the front steps of 1760 Becker St., its front passenger-side wheel on the steps and its rear passenger-side wheel appearing off the ground. The front railings were damaged in the crash. The driver apparently fled the scene.

Officers could be seen searching the car at the scene. Officers could also be seen recovering a gun from the middle of Elder Street. Officers secured the weapon in a patrol car.
A police spokesman did not immediately have details on the incident early Sunday afternoon.
