Schenectady JCC hoop teams notch victories


Boys’ basketball travel teams from the Schenectady JCC saw recent action.

The Junior team made up of seventh- and eighth-graders won 55-22 against St. Clement’s Maroon on Dec. 15, then beat St. Gabriel’s Black 64-45 on Dec. 16. In the first win, Sam Booth and Tristan Adrian each scored 19 points, while Dylan Mennillo had 21 in the second victory.

The team was also in action the previous weekend, topping St. Kateri White 43-18 on Dec. 8 and St. Thomas Black 52-38 on Dec. 9. Noah Castle had 10 points in the first win, and Mennillo had 13 in the second.

The Biddy squad made up of fifth- and six-graders won 44-15 against Berne-Knox-Westerlo on Dec. 15 and won 41-28 against Clifton Park on Dec. 16.

Nolan Payne’s dozen points led the way in the first victory, while Duncan Munro had 16 in the second win.

The team also won 41-21 on Dec. 9 against SMI. Munro had 16 points in that victory.
