High schools: Mohonasen boys’ basketball beats Guilderland

Duncan Tallman scored 28 points and Chase Monroe scored 17 as the Mohonasen boys’ basketball team defeated Guilderland 77-41 Saturday in a non-league game. Billy Lia scored 14 for Guilderland.

Rob Brown scored 23 points to lead Albany Academy past Knox 87-64. August Mahoney added  17 points for Albany Academy, and Andre Jackson had 15.

Mekeel Christian Academy defeated Bishop Kearney 66-59 in a non-league game behind Ozzie DeJesus’ 31 points and Alex Barnhill’s 22 points. 

OESJ defeated Hoosic Valley 54-38, led by Zach Moser’s 12 points and Jaedyn Logan-Dillenbeck’s 11 points.

Bethlehem defeated Kingston 63-41 in a non-league game, led by Julia Harvey’s 14 points and a trio of 10-point efforst from Ava LeClair, Maren Louridas and Kiersten Murray.

HOCKEY
La Salle shut out Niskayuna/Schenectady/Albany 3-0 in the CDHSHL.
Saratoga Springs shut out CBA 3-0.

Burnt Hills/Ballston Spa scored five goals in the third period to beat Bethlehem 7-4. Michael Bievenue had two goals, Jonathan Thibodeau had a goal and an assist, and Henry Kopplin had a goal for Bethlehem.

Shenendehowa defeated Cortland/Homer 6-3 in a non-league game. 

Will Cormie scored two goals and had two assists to help Adirondack beat Northeastern Clinton 5-0. Willis Bickford, Tommy Moore, and Nick Parker each had one goal.

Plattsburgh scored three goals in the third period and one in overtime to defeat Queensbury 4-3. Brendan Duffy had two goals and an assist, and Jack Randall had a goal and an assist for Queensbury.

WRESTLING
Ben Catrambone (126) and James Murphy (170) of Niskayuna won individual titles, and the Silver Warriors placed third in the team competition at the Saratoga Invitational.

Niskayuna’s Derek Meisner (220) placed second, and Willie Thacker (138) and Peter Meshkov (160) placed third.

Norwich won the team title with 157 points followed by Queensbury with 149, Niskayuna with 145.5 and Ballston Spa with 145.
