RICHMONDVILLE – A Richmondville man possessed and distributed child pornography, state police said.
Troopers last week arrested Angel M. Gomez, 26, and charged him with one count each of possession and promotion of a sexual performance by a child, felonies.
Troopers Thursday executed a search warrant at a residence on East Main Street in Richmondville as part of an investigation into someone sharing images of child sexual exploitation on the internet, state police said.
Investigators found Gomez and interviewed him, troopers said. Gomez admitted downloading and sharing the images, state police said.
Troopers also seized digital evidence. That evidence was being processed, police said.
The state police, state Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, and Homeland Security participated in the raid.
Gomez was arraigned and ordered held on $2,000 bail.
