Niskayuna makes appointments, reappointments

The Niskayuna Town Board last week made appointments – but mostly re-appointments – to town boards.

All resolutions were approved unanimously.

Among the re-appointments:

* David Olsen and Vincent Valenza to the Ethics Board.

* Fred Goodman as chairman of the Zoning Board of Appeals.

* Kevin Walsh as chairman of the Planning Board and Zoning Commission.

* Keith Frary as member of the Zoning Board of Appeals.

* David D’Arpino as a member of the Planning Board and Zoning Commission.

* Kevin Walsh as chairman of the Planning Board and Zoning Commission.

* Jeanie P. Orr, Amanda Matuszyk, Kathryn Harter, Jill Connell, Chelsea Rattner and Kevin Duffy to the Conservation Advisory Council.

* William Chapman, David Hogenkamp, Dart Strayer, Jared Wells, James Levy, Theresa Healey and Mary Jo Pierpont to the Complete Streets Council, with Chapman as chairman.

* Melissa MacKinnon, Andrea Worthington, Stephen Signell, Chris Zimmerman and Carol Carey to the Tree Council.

Appointments included:

* T. Darton Strayer as chairman of the Conservation Advisory Council, succeeding William Lee, who retired from the position in January.

* Tina Lee and Ellen Daviero were appointed to the Conservation Advisory Council.

* Amy Howansky to the Tree Council.

In other business, the Town Board appointed Thomas L. Lucey to the police department.

Paul Briggs and Robert E. Hess were appointed town attorney and deputy town attorney, respectively, at salaries of $50,000 and $35,000.
