
SCHENECTADY – A city man used a handgun to hit a 16-year-old in the head late last month in Schenectady, causing a cut that required stitches to close, authorities said.
Richard McCloud III, 42, was charged last week with one count each of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and second-degree assault, felonies. He also faces misdemeanor menacing and child endangerment.
McCloud is accused of using the gun to hit the child Dec. 27 at a Moyston Street address, according to police allegations filed in court. The teen suffered a cut that required stitches to close, according to the allegations. He was taken to Albany Medical Center for treatment.
McCloud was arrested Jan. 3 and has since been released to return to court later.
