GLENVILLE – A Glenville man jailed in 2015 for child pornography possession has been arrested again and on similar accusations, authorities said.
Jason O. Brann, 38, of Glendale Road, was arrested Thursday one one count each of possessing and promoting a sexual performance by a child, felonies, Glenville police said.
He is accused of possessing and promoting the images in September, police said. The state police Computer Crimes Unit and Schenectady County Department of Probation assisted, police said.
There was no indication that Brann had any contact with children, police said.
The new accusations follow similar accusations against Brann from 2015. He was arrested that October on charges of possessing and promoting a sexual performance by a child. He later pleaded guilty in that case to one count of possession and received six months in jail and 10 years probation, probation on which he remained at the time of his new arrest. He also made the sex offender registry as a Level 1, the lowest of the three levels.
Should he be convicted in the new case, he would face whatever time he would get on the new charges and a potential consecutive term of 1.3 to 4 years based on the 2015 case, minus time already served. A conviction in the new case would also be his second for a sex offense, making him a presumptive Level 3 sex offender, the highest level.
Brann was arraigned on the new charges and ordered held without bail.
