ROTTERDAM – A Niskayuna man has been arrested in connection with the Friday robbery at the Pioneer Savings Bank on Altamont Avenue in Rotterdam, police said.

Robert P. Turner, 34, of 702 Christian Court, faces one count each of third-degree robbery and third-degree grand larceny, police said.

He is accused of robbing the bank at 1828 Altamont Ave. at about 10:10 a.m. Friday, police said.

While inside the bank, Turner approached a bank teller and passed a note demanding money, police said. The note also implied that Turner had a weapon, but no weapon was displayed. No injuries were reported. Turner then fled.

Police took Turner into custody late Friday night, at about 11:30, with the assistance of the Niskayuna Police Department, Rotterdam police said in a release.

Turner was arraigned and ordered held on $20,000 bail.
