
NISKAYUNA — The Niskayuna CDYBL boys basketball teams took on North Colonie on Jan. 5.
The eighth-graders lost 60-45 with Brooks Brennan scoring nine points.
The seventh-grade team won 60-44 led by Gavin Olsen’s 18 points, five rebounds and three assists. Kasper Matia added 16 points and 10 rebounds, Rocco Foti had 10 points and nine rebounds, and Nick Thomas added 10 points.
The sixth-graders won 34-31 behind 14 points from Ethan Gilson.
The fifth-grade team fell 42-21 with Jordan Bonaparte scoring seven points and Charles Gadsden adding six.
Joseph Lagace led the fourth-graders in a 35-33 defeat scoring 10 points, while Raymond Bowman and Alec Ingemie added eight and six points, respectively.
In nonleague play, the Niskayuna boys took on South Colonie teams on Jan. 6.
The eighth-graders fell 54-43 with Brooks Brennan scoring 10 points, while Sam Booth and Dylan Mennillo each added eight.
The seventh-grade team won 47-44 behind 20 points and 16 rebounds from Kasper Matia, while Gavin Olsen added 12 points and seven rebounds, and Nick Thomas chipped in with seven points, five rebounds and three assists.
The sixth-graders won 49-41 led by Brady Olsen’s 15 points.
The fifth-grade team lost in overtime 33-31 with Cam Grasso scoring 11 points.
The fourth-graders fell 30-27 with Chase Meisner scoring 10 points.
JCC SQUADS IN ACTION
In a game played Dec. 30, Dylan Mennillo scored 19 points to lead the Schenectady JCC Junior Boys team to a 51-37 win against Clifton Park Gold. Mennillo also scored 14 points in a 43-26 win on Jan. 5 against St. Clare’s Gold, and he scored 18 in a 57-42 victory against St. Paul’s on Jan. 6.
On Jan. 5, the Schenectady JCC Biddy Boys team won 44-30 against CTK Blue. Duncan Munro had 16 points in victory.
