Charges filed in Sunday Schenectady stabbing

He faces assault and weapons counts

SCHENECTADY – A City man has been charged in connection with Sunday morning’s stabbing on McClellan Street, police said.

Two people suffered injuries in the incident. Police called both minor and non-life-threatening.

Police took Charles B. Lewis, 36, into custody at the scene and have since charged him with second-degree assault and weapons possession, felonies.

The incident happened just before 9 a.m. Sunday at 427 McClellan St.

Dispatchers received a call from inside the residence stating that someone may have been stabbed inside. Officers arrived to find the two victims inside and Lewis.

Both victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment.

Lewis also faces misdemeanor counts of menacing, reckless endangerment and child endangerment.

Lewis was held overnight for arraignment Monday morning.
