Boys’ basketball: Columbia beats Schenectady in double OT

Columbia beat Schenectady 74-73 in a double-overtime Suburban Council thriller on Tuesday.

Columbia’s Dylan Ouimette led the scoring with 26 points. Joey Alamprese and Cooper Zwanka also finished with double digits scoring 19 and 18 points, respectively, for the Blue Devils.

Kareem Sanders had 20 points for Schenectady, knocking down six 3-pointers.

Latyce Faison’s 20 points helped Troy defeat Averill Park 54-44. Troy’s Nazaire Merritt scored 17 points, all coming in the second half.

Zachary Price led Averill Park with 18 points. 

Brendan Coyle scored 19 points to aid Colonie past Shaker 60-48. Marcus Shelton added 14 points for the Garnet Raiders.  

CBA outscored Niskayuna 39-18 in the second-half as the Brothers rolled to a 67-49 victory. Jordan King led CBA with 24 points.

Pat Ryan scored 20 points for Bethlehem, leading to a 75-65 victory over Saratoga Springs.  Saratoga’s Will Fox produced 18 points.

Albany narrowly defeated Ballston Spa 66-64. Michael Benitez scored 25 points for Albany. Ballston Spa’s Luke Alteri hit 16 of 17 on free-throws to give him 29 points for the game. 

Shenendehowa routed Guilderland 60-30. Devin Dzikas and Jake Reinisch both scored 14 points in the winning effort.  Ryan Teaney highlighted Guilderland by scoring 17 points. 

Lansingburgh defeated Cohoes 85-59 in a Colonial Council matchup. Vinny Tario led Lansingburgh with 22 points. Three other players finished with double-digits for Knights — Trevor Green (16), Isaiah Knight (15) and Kobi Wallace (10). Ivan Brajac netted 25 points for Cohoes. 

Duncan Tallman scored 28 points to aid Mohonasen over Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk 69-32. Lorenzo Gannon contributed 10 points for Mohonasen. 

Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons pulled ahead of Duanesburg 41-25 in the first half and went on to win 75-61 in the Western Athletic Conference. Todd Williamson scored 22 points for ND-BG. Duanesburg was led by Jakaia Stahl with 18 points.

Scotia-Glenville came back from a 38-26 halftime deficit to beat Queensbury 63-60 in a Foothills Council match-up. Robert Barrera led Scotia with 20 points. 

Johnstown scored 29 points in the fourth quarter to help them pull away to a 72-55 victory over South Glens Falls. Ethan Wager led Johnstown with 21 points. He was 15 of 17 from the free-throw line.
