ALBANY – How cold did it get last night? Really cold.

The National Weather Service in Albany this morning released their recorded low temperatures last night – without wind chills – and they dipped into the negative teens in places.

Temperatures plus the wind dipped the chill to the negative 30s. (Yes, negative 30s)

One of the places where the air temperature dipped into the teens was a spot in Duanesburg, which recorded a temperature at 7:47 a.m. of -13 degrees. The same spot recorded a wind chill of -30 at 6:01 a.m.

The award (award?) for coldest air temperature spots in the Capital Region goes to Fulton County and Rensselaer County. A spot in Fulton County north of St. Johnsville recorded -14 degrees at 6:50 a.m., while a spot near Grafton recorded the same at 7:45 a.m.

As for wind chills, the coldest recorded wind chill in the six-county area came in near Cobleskill at 6:45 a.m., -37 degrees. Mariaville in Schenectady County wasn’t far behind, with a recorded wind chill at -35 at 2:30 a.m.

A full list of recorded overnight low temperatures can be found at the National Weather Service site. Wind chill temperatures, too.
