GLOVERSVILLE — A man whose body was discovered in the Cayadutta Creek last summer drowned accidentally, police announced Tuesday.

The body of Bruce W. Morrison, 35, of Johnstown, was discovered in the creek near the Rail Trail on July 19.

Police initially characterized his death as suspicious and indicated they were awaiting results of a toxicology test before determining how he died.

The police announcement Tuesday did not indicate how they came to their accidental drowning conclusion.

Gloversville police, along with state police, the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, Fulton County Coroner’s Office and Fulton County District Attorney’s Office participated in the investigation.
