High schools: Girard scores 52 in Glens Falls’ win

Joseph Girard III scored 52 points, and David Barclay added 10 to power Glens Falls past Queensbury 81-67 Wednesday in Foothills Council boys’ basketball.

Bryce Bleibtrey scored 22 points for Queensbury, and Sean Collins had 19.

In the Western Athletic Conferwence, Schoharie edged Berne-Knox-Westerlo 72-66 behind Fletcher Griffin’s 17 points, 13 points each from Nate Simmons and John Blackwood. and Shane Helmstead’s 12. BKW was led by Ryan Germani’s 21 points, Zeke Pulliam’s 20 and Adam Esposito’s 13.

Waterford-Halfmoon defeated Heatly 80-48 in a non-league game, led by Bobby Valigorski’s 21 points, Michael Talavera’s 19 and TJ Kelley’s 18. Dennis Boodrow dropped 16, and Darius Moore had 12 for Heatly.

Alexis Wright scored 25 points to lead Berne-Knox-Westerlo to a 49-43 non-league victory over Heatly. Taylor Meacham scored 16 points for BKW. Jordan Ries scored 12 points for Heatly. 
Madison Graham scored 24 points to lead Ichabod Crane to a 60-48 victory over Stillwater. Madison Kowalski had 11 points and Audrey Duso added 10 for Ichabod. Marley Mueller scored 23 points, and Brooke Pickett added 10 for Stillwater.

Ryan Warnick and Jameson McDonald each scored a goal for Albany Academy.  Taylor Nitz scored two goals and Mike Baker and DJ Pauley each scored a goal for La Salle.
