ALBANY — The University at Albany men’s lacrosse team has been picked to finish first in the America East Conference’s annual preseason poll.
“While it is certainly nice to be recognized, our team realizes and is prepared for the challenges we face to be No. 1 at the end of the season,” UAlbany head coach Scott Marr said in a press release.
UAlbany is coming off a 2018 season in which it made its first appearance in the NCAA tournament semifinals and won its ninth league championship. The Great Danes went 16-3 last season, the first in which they earned a No. 1 national ranking.
UAlbany starts its 2019 season on Feb. 16 at Syracuse.
