NISKAYUNA — SI Group announced Wednesday that its CEO will resign next month.

Frank Bozich, who had led the Niskayuna chemical company since 2013, will become president and CEO of Trinseo, a Pennsylvania materials company, effective March 4.

SK Capital Partners of New York City completed its acquisition of the 112-year-old SI Group on Oct. 15. As part of the transition, another chemical company previously acquired by SK, Connecticut-based Addivant, was merged into SI Group.

Bozich and Addivant’s CEO were named co-CEOs of the combined SI Group, which in late 2018 had a total of 3,000-plus employees at more than 30 manufacturing sites on five continents and projected about $2 billion in annual revenue.

Just before the merger, SI Group had 389 Capital Region employees, nearly evenly split between its headquarters on Balltown Road and a factory in Rotterdam Junction.

“Frank’s transition out of the company comes at a time when the structural integration is largely complete,” stated Barry Siadat, a founder and Managing Director of SK Capital.

Dave Mezzanotte, director at SK Capital Partners, will serve as interim CEO of SI Group until a successor is named.
