SARATOGA SPRINGS — A  woman is facing charges after stabbing a man in the chest with a knife at the Adirondack Inn Saturday night, Saratoga Springs police said.

The 33-year-old victim suffered a puncture wound described by police as non life-threatening.

Police charged Mona L. Nordstrom, 50, of Saratoga Springs, with one count each of second-degree assault and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, both felonies, along with misdemeanor child endangerment.

The incident happened just before midnight Saturday at the West Avenue motel. Police determined the victim and an uninvolved individual were in a motel room when a disagreement led to Nordstrom going after the victim with a knife, injuring him, police said.

The victim and the uninvolved individual then exited the room and called police. Officers arrested Nordstrom a short time later, police said.

The victim was taken to Saratoga Hospital for treatment.

Nordstrom was arraigned and released to return to court later.
