STILLWATER — Three people are facing charges for conspiring to sell heroin and other drugs in Saratoga County, according to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office.

William B. Shafer, 32, of 6 Round Lake Road, Round Lake, Paul E. Teal, 31, and Crystal M. Wadsworth, 33, both of 29 Ferry Lane, Stillwater, were arrested last week, after a joint investigation by the sheriff’s office and state police, officials said.

Shafer sold the drugs, while Teal and Wadsworth assisted him, sheriff’s officials allege.

Shafer was already on parole for a prior drug conviction, officials said.

The three were charged Wednesday at the residence of Teal and Wadsworth, after a search warrant was executed by the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Special Operations Team, officials said.

Shafer faces three counts each of third-degree criminal possession and sale of a controlled substance, all felonies, as well as three counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor. Teal and Wadsworth each face one count of fourth-degree conspiracy, a felony.

Shafer was arraigned and ordered held without bail. Teal was ordered held on $2,500 bail, while Wadsworth was ordered held on $1,250 bail.
