Skidmore to host free sports clinic for girls

SARATOGA SPRINGS — The Skidmore College Athletics Department invites girls in grades 3 through 7 to its tenth annual National Girls & Women in Sports Day event this Saturday, Feb. 9 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., in the Williamson Sports Center.Check-inn begins at 11 a.m. 

Skidmore’s scholar-athletes will teach participants specific skills in volleyball, field hockey, lacrosse, soccer, softball and tennis. Each participant will have the opportunity to learn skills in each of the sports, meet with and get autographs from all of the scholar-athletes, participate in giveaways, and pose for photos with Skids, Skidmore’s mascot. 

Participants should come dressed in athletic clothing and sneakers. All sports equipment will be provided. 

While admission is free, registration is required. Preregister online at www.skidmore.edu/ngswd/ or at the event beginning at 11 a.m. 

Girl Scouts of Northeastern New York is a partner for this event.
