WILTON – Two Gansevoort sisters were charged with drunken driving within hours of each other Saturday, state police said.
Both sisters were involved in the first incident, where they were also accused of fighting with troopers. The sister identified as the passenger in the first incident was then caught driving drunk in the later stop, troopers said.
In all, Diane L. Larouech, 56, of Gansevoort, faces aggravated driving while intoxicated and resisting arrest counts, both misdemeanors. Her sister, Donna L. Larouech, also identified as 56, and of Gansevoort, faces resisting arrest and obstructing, misdemeanors, in the first incident and aggravated DWI in the later incident, state police said.
The first incident happened just before 2:30 p.m. Saturday on Gailor Road in Wilton, state police said, when an off-duty trooper spotted a car driving erratically and nearly causing several accidents, troopers said.
Troopers determined Diane L. Larouech to be the driver and her blood alcohol content to be 0.22 percent. As troopers arrested her, Donna Larouech attempted to fight troopers and both were arrested.
The sisters were then released to return to court later.
Then, at about 7:20 p.m., another trooper spotted a vehicle committing multiple vehicle and traffic violations, also on Gailor Road. Troopers then identified that driver as Donna Larouech and found her blood alcohol content to be 0.19 percent.
She was then charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated herself and released again to return to court later.
