SCHENECTADY – A morning fire damaged an apartment in Schenectady Tuesday.

The fire broke out around 9:30 a.m. on the fourth floor of the Ten Eyck Apartments on Broadway, Assistant Fire Chief Don Mareno said. The building’s alarm system summoned firefighters.

Responding firefighters doused the blaze quickly and contained it to the one apartment. There was also some water damage to a hallway, he said.

A few residents were examined for possible effects from the fire, but no injuries were reported, Mareno said.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
