
A man died after being struck by a motor vehicle on state Route 50 in Ballston Sunday, according to authorities.
The accident occurred just before 7:30 p.m. between the route’s intersections with Brookline Road and Tomaselli Court.

The pedestrian died at the scene, Saratoga County Sheriff’s officials said in a release Monday morning. The release did not identify the pedestrian or the driver involved, indicating the names were “being withheld pending investigation.”
The accident shut down the section of Route 50, a two-lane road at that point south of the village of Ballston Spa, as Saratoga County sheriff’s deputies and state police secured the scene and investigated the accident into the evening. The section was reopened about 11:30 p.m., according to the state NY-Alert notification system.
