COLONIE – A Clifton Park-based DJ arrested on child sexual abuse charges in Rensselaer County in January now faces more accusations in Albany County, Colonie police said.

Brian O. Angelo, 51, also known as DJ IROC, of 51 Hendrick Hudson Way, turned himself in Tuesday to Colonie police on an Albany County Court indictment, charging him with predatory sexual assault against a child.

If convicted of the charge, he would face up to 25 years to life in prison.

Angelo is accused of sexually abusing a 12-year-old girl known to him on multiple occasions between February and October of 2009, police and prosecutors said.

Angelo was arraigned in Albany County Court on the new charge Tuesday afternoon and ordered held on $50,000 bail.

Both the Colonie and Rensselaer County investigations began in July when police received a child abuse hotline notification about Angelo sexually abusing a victim in Colonie beginning in 2006, police said in a news release.

Angelo was first arrested in January on the Rensselaer County charges. A grand jury indicted him there on one count of first-degree course of sexual conduct against a child, three counts of first-degree criminal sexual act and four counts of first-degree sexual abuse, all felonies.

State police said then that the victims’ ages ranged from 8 to 14 at the times of the abuse.

A conviction on one of the top Rensselaer County counts would mean up to 25 years in prison.

Both the state police in January and Colonie police Tuesday asked that anyone with information about Angelo to contact police. Colonie investigators can be reached at 518-783-2744.
