HADLEY — A Hadley man died in a snowmobile accident near his home, state police said Wednesday.
John Brockway 50, went out on the machine Tuesday evening, state police said.
When he hadn’t returned by 10 p.m., troopers were called and a search was launched with the assistance of state police aviation and snowmobiles, as well as the state Department of Environmental Conservation and forest rangers, troopers said.
Searchers found Brockway’s body around 11 a.m. Wednesday a short distance from his residence. Troopers said it appears he died as a result of a low-speed snowmobile accident. The investigation continued Wednesday afternoon.
