
ROCKLAND COUNTY – A Schenectady man drove drunk and crashed his car on the Thruway in Rockland County Friday afternoon, state police said.
No one was injured in the crash and no other cars were involved, state police said.
Navindra Tejsingh, 26, was arrested after the 2:36 p.m. incident and charged with one count of felony driving while intoxicated, as well as multiple vehicle and traffic violations, state police said. The felony is due to a prior conviction within 10 years, troopers said.
The one-car crash happened on Interstate 87 in the town of Hillburn, state police said. Troopers found Tejsingh’s blood alcohol content to be 0.20 percent, above the legal limit of 0.08, troopers said.
Tejsingh was arraigned and ordered held on $2,500 bail, state police said.
