SCHENECTADY — An unresponsive man found Monday inside the restroom at the downtown Schenectady Burger King died, police confirmed Tuesday morning.

The man’s death continues to be investigated, city police spokesman Sgt. Matthew Dearing said, but the death does not appear to be suspicious.

The call came in at 4:03 p.m. on Monday. Dearing confirmed Tuesday that the man died at the scene.

At least a half-dozen police personnel remained on and around the downtown location at 323 Erie Blvd at 5 p.m., including detectives and evidence technicians from the Crime Scenes Unit.

No further details on the individual were immediately released.

Employees of the fast food restaurant were seen putting up yellow signs in the parking lot to prevent motorists from using the drive-thru as the restaurant closed for the investigation.
