High schools: Fort Plain baseball beats Fonda

Jaxson Yacowenia had a triple and single, leading Fort Plain to a 10-1 Western Athletic Conference baseball victory over Fonda-Fultonville on Wednesday.

Nate Buley added two singles for Fort Plain.

Fonda-Fultonville was led by Dylan Hamlen with a double, and Giovanni DiCaprio with two singles.

Waterford-Halfmoon beat Voorheesville 12-1 in a non-league game. Michael Talavera, Evan Kexel and Haroon Matin had a double and a single each for Waterford. Mike Castracani added two singles.

Leah VanDerwarker homered and had two singles, Courtney Robarge had a double and two singles and Christine Mallette and Emily Beames each had a pair of singles to lead South Glens Falls past Queensbury 20-3 in a Foothills Council game.

Molly Elder had two doubles and two singles, Sydney Warm had a home run and a single Hannah Klingbeil homered, and Teagan Andrews had a pair of singles as Schuylerville beat Gloversville 14-1. Gloversville was led by Michaela Ponticello and Nature Conyne with a double each.

Amelia Rowland had two doubles and a single, Ella Kelly had two doubles, Olivia Richardson had a double and two singles, Sydney Worthley had a double and a single and Rori Champion had four singles as Voorheesville defeated Albany Academy 11-5. Albany Academy was led by Kyle McRoberts with a double and two singles, and Kelsey Mallery-Winegard with a double and a single.

Amaya George had two singles to help Troy beat Lansingburgh 5-3 in a non-league game. Camron O’Hara had a double and a single for Lansingburgh.
