CLIFTON PARK — The southbound lanes of the Northway between exits 11 and 8A will experience slowdowns and closures Friday morning as crews work to remove a stuck vehicle from under the southbound bridge at Exit 9, the state Department of Transportation said.
All southbound traffic was halted starting around 9:30 a.m., as state police worked to extract a flatbed carrying a construction excavator, the top of which caught the bridge at about 7:45 a.m. Friday. All lanes on Route 146 were closed, state police said—though by late morning, DOT was saying the road was re-opened, with slowdowns and temporary closures.
DOT said it has engineers on site who would inspect the bridge for damage once the truck is extracted.
Exit 9 is among the busiest intersections in Saratoga County.
