ALBANY — The Memorial College of Nursing will relocate from Albany Memorial Hospital to Maria College.
The deal was finalized in April, announced Thursday and will be in place when classes start in August.
The century-old Memorial College of Nursing is an affiliate of St. Peter’s Health Partners, which operates the hospital. It will remain an independent school affiliated with SPHP, offering an associate degree in science. Its students will have access to some Maria College support services and will gain the benefit of close proximity to St. Peter’s Hospital.
Memorial College will occupy the historic Marian Hall on the campus of Maria College, which was founded in 1958, is sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas and is a private, co-educational, Catholic college serving over 800 students.
