City of Amsterdam continues to flush water mains

Officials with the City of Amsterdam Department of Public Works have released the water main flushing schedule for Monday, May 13.

Water mains on the following streets and areas will be flushed between 6:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. that day:

Edson Street
Edson Street Industrial Park
Sam Stratton Drive
Church Street between Edson and Prospect streets
Cornell Street
Reid Street
Jay Street
James Street
Pulaski Street
Teller Street
Edward Street
Bartlett Street
Hibbard Street
Slater Street
Vrooman Avenue between Edson Street and Kreisel Terrace
Frederick Street
Mathias Avenue
Mason Avenue
Kreisel Terrace
Bell Street
Kellogg Street
Lura Lane
Lura Street

Residents are advised that water may be dirty or appear discolored after the mains in their area are flushed. Officials are aware of this condition and say that it will dissipate by running cold water through interior faucets to flush the dirty or discolored water out.
