NISKAYUNA — A Niskayuna man was arrested Wednesday after a drug raid on his home, Schenectady County sheriff’s officials said.
Kevin M. Thompson, 46, of 2709 Balltown Road, was taken into custody on a parole violation as part of an ongoing drug investigation, officials said.
A search of the residence uncovered a loaded .38-caliber handgun, 14.1 ounces of raw heroin and $6,000 in cash, officials said.
The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are expected, officials said.
Thompson is on post-release supervision related to a 2016 Schenectady County drug conviction, records show. He was sentenced to two years in prison and was to remain under supervision until September 2019.
Thompson also has previous felony drug convictions from Albany County in 2005 and Schenectady County in 1993, records show.
The sheriff’s narcotics unit was assisted by detectives from the Niskayuna and Rotterdam police departments.
