NISKAYUNA — Niskayuna High School will host its 27th annual Memorial Day ceremony on Friday.
The service will begin at 11 a.m. at the flag pole area near the west entrance of the high school.
Administrators, along with graduates from the class of 1964 and members of the former VFW Lt. Vernon F. Hovey III Post in Niskayuna, will honor the memory of three Niskayuna High School graduates who were killed in action during the Vietnam War. They are:
- Lt. Robert S. Cragin Jr., class of 1962
- Lt. Vernon F. Hovey III, class of 1964
- Pfc. Richard W. Starkey, class of 1965
In addition, faculty and staff members who served in the military will individually recognize students from the class of 2019 who will be entering the military upon graduation.
A performance by the Niskayuna High School Concert Band and the Bel Canto Voices also will be part of the ceremony.
