Route, parking restrictions announced for Gloversville Memorial Day parade

Police: Vehicles parked along the parade route will be cleared prior to its start

GLOVERSVILLE — Gloversville Police Department Chief Marc Porter has announced both the route and parking restrictions for the annual Memorial Day Parade, taking place on Monday morning. 

The parade steps off from the intersection of N. Main Street and E. Eighth Avenue at 9:30 a.m. The parade travels south then turns onto Sixth Avenue. before turning right onto Kingsboro Avenue. The parade will continue to travel south on Kingsboro Avenue to E. Fulton Street, ending at the Prospect Hill Cemetery. 

Emergency no parking signs will be posted along the entire parade route early Monday morning. Once all of the signs have been posted, police will return to the start of the parade route and begin removing vehicles in violation of those signs. 

“Although this may be an inconvenience, it is essential to a safe and successful event,” said Porter. “Public safety is our top priority. With your support we look forward to a successful event for many people to safely enjoy.”
