CLIFTON PARK — The man accused of causing Saturday afternoon’s fatal crash off Route 9 was driving with a blood alcohol content twice the legal limit to drive, according to police allegations filed in court.

Dickie R. Winn, 58, of Cohoes, is due back in court Wednesday afternoon on multiple charges related to the crash, including aggravated vehicular homicide.

He is accused of driving drunk on Route 9 and causing the crash Saturday when his pickup truck slammed into a car stopped at Usher Road. John Heneghan, 33, and his wife Caitlyn J. Holtzman, 32, both of New York City, were killed in the crash. Three others in Heneghan’s car were seriously hurt.

Documents filed by state police in Clifton Park Town Court and released Tuesday placed Winn’s blood alcohol content at 0.16 percent. That is twice the legal limit to drive of 0.08.

Winn wasn’t seriously hurt in the crash.

He appeared in court Sunday morning and Town Justice James Hughes ordered him held.

Heneghan was a native of Ireland. He met Holtzman while working in the United States, The Irish Independent reported. They were married in Ireland in 2015.

Injured in the crash were Julia Staples, 24, Luke O’Doherty, 25, and Enda Crowley, 25.

The Independent also quoted Father John Kenny, the parish priest of Tourmakeady, Ire, where Heneghan grew up. Kenny told the paper that despite leaving for the United States, Heneghan always kept “a strong connection with home.”

“May they rest in peace. Our thoughts and prayers are with both families, with their friends and with the three people who were injured,”  Kenny told the paper.
