WILTON – A Porters Corners motorcyclist was killed Wednesday morning when his motorcycle slammed into a pickup truck on Ballard Road, Saratoga County Sheriff’s officials said.
Sheriff’s officials identified the motorcyclist killed as Jason M. Greenhalgh, 34.
The pickup truck driver, identified as Martin T. Petteys, 47, of Gansevoort, was taken by private car to Saratoga Hospital for evaluation, officials said.
The accident happened just after 9 a.m. on Ballard Road, at Gurn Springs Road when Greenhalgh’s motorcycle hit the pickup truck as it crossed Ballard from Gurn Springs, officials said.
Greenhalgh was taken by paramedics to Albany Medical Center, where he died from his injuries, officials said.
The accident remained under investigation Wednesday afternoon.
The crash was one of two fatal crashes on area roadways Wednesday morning. A Mechanicville man, 79, died in a one-car crash off the Northway in Colonie at about 10:19 a.m., state police said.
