SCHENECTADY — With a rash of gloomy and wet weather, it hasn’t felt like summer.
But the Boys & Girls Clubs of Schenectady is right on schedule when it comes to opening four city pools for public use.
The Central Park pool will open on June 28 at 12:30 p.m. and stay open until Aug. 23. The pool is open every day, weekends included, from 12:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The pools at Hillhurst Park, Quackenbush Park and Front Street all open for the season on July 1 and will close Aug. 20, Aug. 22 and Aug. 21, respectively.
Pool hours for open swim are Monday through Saturday from 12:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. and closed on Sunday for all three.
The three pools will offer family swim on Tuesday and Thursday from 5 to 6 p.m. with two children allowed per adult.
In a departure from past years, swimming lessons will conducted at Hillhurst Park — not Quackenbush Park. Lessons will be held daily Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.
People 19 years and older are considered adult swimmers.
All swimmers under 5 are required to be accompanied by an adult; ages 5-10 are required to have an adult on the pool deck; ages 20 and under require a registration form. A photo ID is required for all swimmers over the age of 13.
