DAY – A Gansevoort motorcyclist was killed Monday evening when his motorcycle collided with a car in the town, Saratoga County Sheriff’s officials said.

Samir Abusen, 25, of Fortsville Road, was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.

The incident happened at about 7:20 p.m. on North Shore Road in Day, officials said.

Evidence from the scene showed Abusen was travelling southwest on North Shore when he lost control of his motorcycle and began to slide into the oncoming lane, officials said.

The motorcycle then collided with an oncoming car, officials said.

The driver of the car was identified as Troy L. Bush, 27, of Lake Luzerne. Bush was evaluated at the scene but required no further treatment, officials said.

The crash is being investigated by the sheriff’s Collision Reconstruction Unit. Deputies were assisted at the scene by Hadley-Luzerne and Edinburg fire departments and Jessup’s Landing Emergency Medical Services.
