TROY – A nurse from Saratoga Springs took medication from a Rensselaer County nursing home, state police said this week.

Richard J. Stevens, 31, was arrested Tuesday and charged with multiple felony counts of first-degree falsifying business records and misdemeanor petit larceny, state police said.

Stevens is accused of taking the medication from the Diamond Hill Nursing Home. The investigation began after home officials reported to state police that they believed an employee was taking medication, troopers said.

The investigation then led to Stevens, a registered nurse and a shift supervisor at the home, state police said. Troopers did not identify the medication taken in a release.

Stevens was processed and released to appear in court later.
