1907: Ballston Spa’s first sewage disposal system is completed after two years, at a cost of $100,000. The plant, on a farm a mile east of the village, pumps sewage to a septic system, preventing it from being dumped into village streams.
1918: With the Navy ordering 300,000 suits of underwear, Cohoes knitting mills stress the need for patriotism as they say workers may have to forgo their summer vacations.
1928: Mrs. Raymond Myrick of Schenectady gives birth to Ellis Hospital’s first set of triplets: two boys and a girl.
