In celebration of The Daily Gazette’s 125th anniversary, the newspaper will publish newsworthy items from past editions and past decades.

1925: Summer school opens in Schenectady, with 600 enrolled at the high school and 500 at the junior high.
1928: The new W.T. Grant store, a $250,000 building replacing one destroyed by fire the previous fall, opens at 419-421 State St. in Schenectady.
1977: With an alleged confession thrown out, murder charges are dismissed against Kenneth Yarter, accused of raping and murdering 16-year-old Susan Zanta of Schenectady.
