Warren County Sheriff: Widow of Schoharie crash limo driver accused of welfare fraud

QUEENSBURY – The widow of the man who drove the limo that crashed in October killing him and 19 others is now facing a welfare fraud count, Warren County Sheriff’s officials said Wednesday.

Kim Lisinicchia, 54, of Queensbury, is accused of illegally receiving more than $24,000 in housing assistance over more than two years by failing to report her husband Scott Lisinicchia’s income when applying for benefits, officials said.

Kim Lisinicchia is accused of doing so between January 2016 and October 2016. Her husband and the 19 others killed in the Schoharie crash died Oct. 6.

“She is accused of failing to report his income on her applications for public assistance despite the fact that they cohabited and she was required to cite ALL household income,” Warren County Sheriff’s Lt. Steven Stockdale said in an email.

Kim Lisinicchia is specifically accused of falsifying Housing and Urban Development Housing Choice Voucher Program certification and tenant information forms by failing to report and inaccurately reporting the household’s income, officials said.

Kim Lisinicchia faces one count each of third-degree grand larceny, third-degree welfare fraud and first-degree offering a false instrument for fling, felonies.

She was processed and released to appear in court later.

The case was handled by Warren County Sheriff’s Investigator Christopher Hatin with assistance from the Glens Falls Housing Authority.
