Schenectady man charged in connection with double shooting

Two injured, one remains hospitalized

SCHENECTADY — A city resident has been arrested in connection with a double shooting on Thursday.

Jason L. Sellie, 40, has been charged by city police with first-degree assault, a class B felony, after allegedly shooting Wayne Q. Brown, 18, in the chest at the corner of Emmett and Hamlin streets at or about 11:14 p.m., authorities said.

Sellie was also charged with two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, both felonies.

The second victim’s identity was not immediately available on Friday.

One victim remains hospitalized and is listed in stable condition.

The incident is still under investigation.
