MALTA – One person died and three others injured in a crash Sunday on Route 9 in Malta, according to Gazette news gathering partner CBS6, citing state police.
One of the three injured was taken to Albany Medical Center via helicopter with critical injuries, CBS6 reported. The other two injured had non-life-threatening injuries.
The crash had both directions of Route 9 shut down between Hearn Road and Callaghan Boulevard as state police investigated Sunday evening, troopers said in the 4:43 p.m. tweet.
A truck could be seen on its side and a car could be seen with significant front-end damage.
Troopers did not immediately provide further information on the crash.
