Glens Falls native Jimmer Fredette confirmed Monday via social media posts that he has signed with Panathinaikos B.C. of the EuroLeague.

Fredette’s deal with the Greece team is for two years, according to various reports.

Fredette, 30, briefly played for this year’s Golden State Warriors’ summer league team after playing for the Phoenix Suns late in the 2018-19 NBA season. Making his first NBA appearances since the 2015-16 season, Fredette played in six games for the Suns.

Before playing for the Suns, Fredette played in the Chinese Basketball Association for the Shanghai Sharks and averaged 35.9 points per game.

A 2007 graduate of Glens Falls High School, Fredette played four seasons of college basketball for BYU. In his senior college season, Fredette was the national player of the year before becoming the No. 10 overall pick in the 2011 NBA draft.

Besides the Suns, Fredette has played for the NBA’s Sacramento Kings, New York Knicks, Chicago Bulls and New Orleans Pelicans.
