HALFMOON — WellNow Urgent Care plans to move into Halfmoon.

WellNow, a growing chain of walk-in urgent care clinics based out of western New York but with clinics all over the state, will be moving into a space at 1694 Route 9.

J. Eric King, president of Equinox Companies, which owns the space WellNow will be moving into, confirmed last week that the company had entered into a long-term, 10-year lease with the urgent care group.

“We are very excited about this new tenant and look forward to many years ahead with them,” King said.

King said that the decision to bring in WellNow was based on the fact that the company was enthusiastic about the space. WellNow, King said, is also seeking to expand into other parts of the Capital Region, another factor in the decision.

The urgent care company will be completing the majority of the retro-fitting process for the site, King said, with minimal approvals needed from the town Planning Board prior to opening.

Ideally, he said, the center will be up and running by December.

The space was previously home to Mattress Firm.

Equinox Companies also owns Exit 9 Self Storage in Clifton Park, which was recently approved for an expansion by the Clifton Park Planning Board.
