SARATOGA SPRINGS – A Halfmoon man stole about $45,000 from the Saratoga Springs PetSmart where he worked, state police said.
Tristan M. Mayheux, 22, was arrested Friday and charged with third-degree grand larceny and first-degree falsifying business records, both felonies.
Mayheux is accused of taking the money in June and July and doing so by taking money from deposit bags and from change orders, state police said.
The investigation began Wednesday when a corporate investigator for PetSmart went to troopers with information about a series of thefts committed by an employee.
Mayheux was arrested at his residence, arraigned and released to return to court later.
