MECHANICVILLE – A Schuylerville motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash Thursday caused by a car pulling into his path, Mechanicville police said Monday.

The crash happened just after 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Park and Central Avenue, police said.

Arriving officers found motorcyclist Nicholas Hladik, 25, of Schuylerville in the intersection suffering from serious injuries and tended to by good Samaritans.

Hladik was taken to the hospital by ambulance and is expected to survive, police said.

The investigation determined the driver of the car, identified as Jesse Mastrocola, 27, of Halfmoon, turned left in front of the motorcyclist, causing the collision, police said.

Police cited Mastrocola for failure to yield the right of way. The investigation continues.

The crash was one of two involving motorcycles in the region in the span of three days.

Motorcyclist Michael Fifield, 55, of Utica, was killed Sunday when a Dodge Durango pulled out in front of him near Granny’s Ice Cream in Ephratah, Fulton County Sheriff’s officials said. Further details on that investigation weren’t included in a release Monday.
