SARATOGA SPRINGS — City police have arrested two men and charged them in connection with a late July standoff at a home on Kaydeross Avenue West.

Police on Thursday charged Edward J. Lorman Jr., 29, address unknown, with a misdemeanor count of menacing.

On Wednesday James M. Caron-Williams, 24, of Kaydeross Avenue West, was charged with a misdemeanor count of criminal nuisance.

Lorman was arraigned in City Court and sent to Saratoga County Jail. Caron-Williams also was arraigned in court and released on bail.

Shortly after 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 27, police were sent to the scene of a large fight — an incident that involved a man with a gun — at 58 Kaydeross Avenue West.

First-responders were met by a person walking west on the road who said he was at a party where a fight broke out. He said someone had pointed a gun at him.

Kaydeross was shut down between Route 9 and Nelson Avenue Extension. Over the next 2 1/2 hours, officers convinced seven people to leave the house voluntarily. Police were forced to use the county’s tactical team to remove four other people from the home.

Officers who checked the scene found live and spent rifle rounds.

In addition to sheriff’s deputies, state troopers also were sent to the house.
